Nunnery in Dong zhulin Temple


Nunnery is means “Jue Mu Gun ” in Tibetan. It was originally built next to East Bamboo Temple and now is rebuilt on the original site of East Bamboo Temple in 1987. As the largest nunnery in Kangqu, it now has nearly 60 registered nuns, coming from Diqing Prefecture of Yunnan, Tibet and Ganzi Prefecture of Sichuan. The biggest Buddhist activity is the “Chi Zhu Chu” in August every year. During this period, the nuns will demonstrate their own handcraft, such as clothes of the Buddha figure , butter lamp wick.
