Baishuitai


Located in the Baidi administrative village of Sanba Town on the southeast of Shangri-la Country, Baishuitai is 101km away from the country center and has an elevation of 2380m above the sea level. It is one of the largest Huaquan platforms in China, and the miraculous cave landform is called “Leftover filed of the fairy”.  According to the legend, it is the formed by the flowing white milk when the queen overturned the milk pot breeding the little emperor. The goddess not having the heart to recover the milk pot is changed into a stone statute, leaning against the Yunshan Mountain, staying here. The edge of the water pond is full of flouring camellia, azalea, wild peony and lizhang flower. Baidi, where Baishui Platform is located, is the origin of Naxi Dongba culture.  It is composed by the sediments of high Calcium Carbonate in the spring waters. Spring waters flows downwards from the mountain to every semicircular-shaped limestone steps. Year after year, it results the natural terraces look as the white marbles.
