Arrive at Urumqi airport , after meeting with the guide at exit of arrival Hall, then transfer to the hotel.

Day 2 Urumqi (B/L/D)

After the breakfast , our guide pick up from hotel, today you will take a boat trip on Heavenly Lake. It is located in the middle of Bogda Peak, 110 km (68miles) east of Urumqi. Covering an area of 4.9 square kilometers (1.89 square miles), this crescent-shaped lake deserves its name, Pearl of Heavenly Mountain (Tianshan Mountain). Boaters on the lake see the ever-changing silvery mountains soaring into the blue sky, their slopes highlighted with verdant pasture and flamboyant wild flowers.
In the afternoon, The Museum of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region the museum was constructed in 1953 and opened to the public on October 1, 1963. It boasts a collection of 32,000 cultural relics, 288 of which are of the national first class. The articles on display at the museum highlight archaeological finds from the Silk Road and local cultural relics, including silk, pottery and porcelain, terra-cotta figures, weapons, documents written in different languages, and Mummies of Urumqi, as well as various articles of 12 local ethnic groups, giving a vivid introduction to the customs and cultures of different ethnic groups. The Mummies of Urumqi display some preserved bodies of men, women and babies discovered in the vast desert. The corpses include a baby who died around 3,800 years ago, still wrapped in swaddling. The most famous, however, is the Luolan Beauty, a corpse of a woman believed to have died in her 40s and be of Indo-European ethnicity. Discovered in 1980 in the riverbed of the Tieban in Loulan City, the corpse is believed to be around 4,000 years old. When found, she was still clutching a small purse and wore leather and fur sandals. It ranks as the earliest and best-preserved mummified body in China.

Day 3 Urumqi -Turpan (B/L/-)

Morning drive to Turpan (3-3.5hrs ) Have a tour of the Ruins of Gaochang. Gaochang is located at the foot of the Flaming Mountain, about 46 kilometers (about 29 miles) southeast of Turpan. Withstanding the test of time and weather, the ancient city of Gaochang, and the ancient city of Jiaohe, are the best-preserved ruins of the ancient cities in China. The city has been a important post in the silk road.
Then visit to Ancient Astana Tomb which are part of the Underground Museum of Turpan and the Living Archives of Gaochang. Astana means capital in Uigur; Karakhoja was a Uigur hero who protected his people from a vicious dragon.The tombs are located 42 km (26miles) southeast of Turpan city and 6 km (3.7miles) from the Ancient City of Gaochang The tombs were the public cemetery of the ancient Gaochang residents, both aristocrats and commoners. Among the excavated 456 tombs, the Gaochang king's has not been found. The tomb complex is 5 km (3.1miles) from east to west, and 2 km (1.2miles) from north to south. Gravel boundaries separate the tombs by family. The paternal family burial order was strictly followed, similar to the system in the Hexi Corridor (today's Gansu Province), and even in central China. Generally, husband and wife were buried together. In some cases, one man was accompanied by two or three women.
Further your trip to visit Bizaklik Thousand Buddha Cave. Bizaklik (consist of 67 caves) means "place where there are paintings" in Uygur language. It used to be an important site for Buddhist worship. Among the 83 existing numbered grottoes, about 40 of them have rich remains of murals. Some murals present clearly the figurines of the Huigu people; some showed Indian monks and portraits of Buddha over different periods.

Day 4 Turpan - Urumqi (B/L/-)

Today star your trip from Ruins of Jiaohe. Like a willow leaf, the ancient city of Jiaohe (Yarkhoto) with a history of 2300 years lies between two rivers on a loess plateau at the top a cliff of over 30 meters (98.4feet).The city is the largest, oldest and best-preserved earthen city in the world, Jiaohe is 1,650 meters (5,413 feet) by 300 meters (984 feet) at its widest; with an area of 220,000 square meters (2,368,168 square feet). Jiaohe was the capital of the former Cheshi State.
Then get to know Karez underground irrigation system. Karez irritation systems are the crystallization of ancient people's diligence and intelligence. At its peak, the karez irrigation system exceeded 5,000 km (3,106 miles). It is among the three ancient major irrigation projects with the other two being Ling Canal and Dujiangyan Irrigation Project. According to records, the history of the karez in Xinjiang dates back to 103B.C. Kareze irritation system have been found in Iran, the Sahara, etc., but the ones in Turpan.
Continue to visit the Emin Minaret. Emin Minaret is the largest extant old tower in Xinjiang; it is tone of the most famous Islamic tower in China. Standing 2 km (1.24 miles) east of Turpan, Emin Minaret was built in 1777 in honor of the Turpan general, Emin Khoja. It was Suleman, Emin's second son that built this minaret with his own money. This is the reason why the minaret is also named Su Gong Ta.
Afterward, transfer back to your hotel in URUMQI (3-3.5HRS )
